Carolina Abortion Fund may be able to help you pay for your abortion if you’re a North or South Carolinian or going to NC or SC for your abortion. To get help, first make your appointment at an abortion clinic and then call the fund at (855) 518-4603, a toll-free number. They are also able to assist Spanish-speaking callers at (855)518-4603 x2. CAF takes funding calls Monday through Thursday. We always call back from a blocked number.

CAF also provides judicial bypass assistance. If you are a minor, please use our Text ABBY line at (844) 997-2229. CAF accepts Text ABBY requests every day.

When you call the fund, you will need to leave a message with:

  • Your name and phone number
  • The date of your appointment
  • Whether or not it’s safe to leave a voicemail

About Carolina Abortion Fund

The Carolina Abortion Fund (CAF) believes that all people should be able to exercise reproductive self-determination, regardless of their income. CAF believes that abortion is healthcare, and healthcare should be well resourced and accessible to all.

Carolina Abortion Fund (CAF) is a 501c3 nonprofit that was founded in 2011 by a group of clinic defenders who were tired of seeing patients delaying or cancelling their appointments just because they couldn’t afford the full cost out of pocket. The Fund began distributing grants to assist people seeking abortion services in April 2012.

Just a few months after forming in the fall of 2011, the Carolina Abortion Fund was able to begin assisting callers. The fund’s network consists of a board of directors, dedicated volunteers and generous individual donors who all help operate the Fund.

In the spring of 2012, the Carolina Abortion Fund participated in the National Abortion Access Bowl-a-Thon for the first time, raising over $18,000 and establishing the fund as an energetic and spirited organization of activists determined to help make choice a reality for women in North Carolina.

The fund’s network consists of a board of directors, a small number of staff, and many dedicated volunteers and generous individual donors who all help operate CAF. Since CAF’s founding, they have distributed nearly 9 million in funding!

The Carolina Abortion Fund is a nonprofit organization and all individual donor contributions are tax-deductible donations that go to fund abortion care and associated practical support.
