About South Dakota Access for Every Woman
South Dakota Access for Every Woman was formed in 1985 by two women who wanted to address the reproductive health needs of low-income women and channeled their passion into creating this fund. South Dakota, with a large concentration of rural poverty, is one of five states with only one abortion clinic. Doctors travel from out of state to provide care at this clinic one or two days a week, and patients often need help with the high costs of travel, childcare, and the medical care itself.
South Dakota Access for Every Woman's Community
Every year this fund helps 30-40 women who would otherwise not be able to afford an abortion. In addition to women living in South Dakota, the South Dakota Access for Every Woman Fund has also helped women in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and North Dakota.
Get Involved
Every year, South Dakota Access for Every Woman takes hundreds of calls and grants thousands of dollars to women of every age and circumstance so they have the resources to make the decision that's right for them and their family. Still, the need far outpaces their ability to help. When you donate to an abortion fund, you help them do even more for women in need. Make out a check payable to South Dakota Access for Every Woman and send to the listed address.
