About Stigma Relief Fund
The staff of Whole Woman’s Heath, headquartered in Austin, Texas, created the Bush Relief Fund in December 2003 in response to their frustration with then-President George W. Bush’s restrictions on abortion access. With the election of President Barack Obama in 2008, Whole Womans Health voted to change the funds name to the Stigma Relief Fund in order reflect their dedication to eliminating stigma surrounding abortion.
The goal of the non-profit Stigma Relief Fund is to financially support women seeking the health care they need and to protect women’s access to reproductive health services, including abortion.
