At PPNNE, we believe that access to abortion care should be available to all, regardless of income. The Laura Fund is an abortion fund at PPNNE, available to help patients access abortion care. Funding is primarily available to patients who are scheduled at PPNNE, or for PPNNE patients who must be seen at an outside office for care. We proudly partner and coordinate with external abortion funds in our three states to help maximize the support available to patients. About The Laura Fund at Planned Parenthood of Northern New England

Founded nearly 40 years ago at Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE), the Laura Fund helps ensure safe, accessible abortion care for patients in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine who have decided to end their pregnancies, but can’t otherwise afford the procedure. When someone calls PPNNE for abortion care, they receive personalized and caring service from specially trained staff, including information about financial assistance through the Laura Fund. As part of our commitment to address the serious barriers and inequities in abortion access, we work to meet patient financial need, while ensuring the Fund always has resources to help the next person in need. The Laura Fund takes travel, lodging, and childcare expenses into consideration in granting Laura Funds to patients in need of abortion services, who otherwise couldn’t afford care.

The Laura Fund is an abortion access fund at Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE), serving patients in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine—including those who travel to us from out of state for care. Founded in 1965, PPNNE provides sliding-fee sexual and reproductive health services to tens of thousands of individuals each year, including more than 3500 abortion care patients. The Laura Fund was named for former PPNNE staff member Laura Twitchell, who was passionate about abortion care access and affordability for patients, and is made possible by generous donor support.

We believe that all individuals should have the information and access they need to make their own decisions about their sexual and reproductive health care needs. We couldn’t provide the access we do without the additional generous support and partnership of abortion fund partners including: Vermont Access to Reproductive Freedom (VARF), Reproductive Freedom Fund of New Hampshire (RFFNH), and, in Maine, Safe Abortions for Everyone (SAFE).
