About Women’s Emergency Network
The Women’s Emergency Network (WEN) was founded in 1989 in response to the Hyde Amendment, which bans the use of federal funds, such as Medicaid, to pay for abortions. WEN’s mission is to remove financial and logistical barriers to reproductive healthcare by helping Floridians access abortion care, contraception, pre/post-abortion care, along with other reproductive healthcare services, in-state when possible, and out-of-state when necessary. WEN has grown to be Florida's largest abortion fund, serving over 500 Floridians every month.
